ROME, Jun. 19, 1990 (AMP) — Italy 90 : Italy defeated Czechoslovakia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Tuesday night at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Italy dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Salvatore Schillaci in the 9th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Italians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Baggio in the 78th minute.
