MILAN, Jun. 8, 1990 (AMP) — Italy 90 : Cameroon defeated Argentina by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday night at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan.
45 minutes of play and neither the Cameroonians nor the Argentines have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Cameroonian forward François Omam-Biyik in the 67th minute.
The result put the Cameroonians top of Group B with 2 points. In their next game, Cameroon will meet Romania at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on June 14, while Argentina will face USSR.
