UDINE, Jun. 17, 1990 (AMP) — Italy 90 : Spain defeated South Korea by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday night at the Stadio Friuli in Udine.
Míchel scored tripple goals
Spanish midfielder Míchel opened the score in the 22nd minute, before seeing South Korea catch up in the 42nd minute thanks to Hwangbo Kwan. 1-1 at half time. The Spaniards eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Míchel ('61, '81).
The result put the Spaniard second in Group E with 3 points. South Korea is bottom with no points. In their last game, Spain will meet group leaders Belgium at the Stadio Friuli on June 21, while South Korea will face Uruguay.
