UDINE, Jun. 21, 1990 (AMP) — Italy 90 : Uruguay defeated South Korea by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Stadio Friuli in Udine.
South Korea made the Uruguayans doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Uruguayan forward Daniel Fonseca seconds before the end of regulation.
