ALMATY, May. 11, 1997 (AMP) — France 98 (Asian Qualifiers) : Kazakhstan defeated Pakistan by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 1998 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night.

The result put the Kazakh top of Group 9 with 3 points. In their next game, Kazakhstan will meet Iraq on June 6, while Pakistan will face Iraq.
