POLOKWANE, Jun. 17, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : Mexico defeated France by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday night at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Hernández ('64) and Blanco ('79 on penalty).
The result put the Mexicans second in Group A with 4 points. France is third with one point. In their last game, Mexico will meet group leaders Uruguay at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on June 22, while France will face South Africa.
