KAZAN, Jun. 16, 2018 (AMP) — Russia 2018 : France defeated Australia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Saturday afternoon at the Kazan Arena.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Griezmann ('58 on penalty) and Behich ('81 own).
The result put the French top of Group C with 3 points. In their next game, France will meet Peru at the Kazan Arena on June 21, while Australia will face Denmark.
