GERMANY, Apr. 28, 2017 (AMP) — Bundesliga / Match day 31: After their 1-1 draw against RB Leipzig on April 23, the Royal Blues returned to winning ways with a 4-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen this Friday.
Guido Burgstaller scored dual goals
Schalke 04 dominated the first half thanks to goals from Burgstaller ('6), Höwedes ('10) and Schöpf ('18). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Royal Blues further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Burgstaller in the 50th minute.
FC Schalke 04 climbed to 8th place with 41 points from 31 games, only one point behind SV Werder Bremen, which has a game in hand.
