FRANCEVILLE, Jan. 19, 2017 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 : Tunisia defeated Algeria by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a AFCON group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Stade de Franceville.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Mandi ('50 own) and Sliti ('66 on penalty).
The result put the Tunisians second in Group B with 3 points. Algeria is bottom with one point. In their last game, Tunisia will meet third-placed Zimbabwe at the Stade de Franceville on January 23, while Algeria will face Senegal.
