AFCON 2017 : Ivory Coast and DR Congo play to a 2-2 draw
OYEM, Jan. 20, 2017 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 : Ivory Coast tied 2-2 with DR Congo (halftime: 1-2), in a AFCON group stage game on Friday afternoon at the Oyem Stadium.
The congoleses started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Kebano ('10) and Kabananga ('28) while the Ivorians only scored once Bony ('25). However, even though they were leading 2-1 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Ivory Coast with a saving goal from Ivorian midfielder Serey Die in the 67th minute.
The result put the congolese top of Group C with 4 points. Ivory Coast is second with 2 points. In their last game, DR Congo will meet third-placed Togo at the Oyem Stadium on January 24, while Ivory Coast will face Morocco.
