Morocco beats Ivory Coast to reach AFCON quarterfinals

OYEM, Jan. 24, 2017 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 : Morocco defeated Ivory Coast by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a AFCON group stage game on Tuesday night at the Oyem Stadium.

45 minutes of play and neither the Moroccans nor the Ivorians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Moroccan forward Rachid Alioui in the 64th minute.

Morocco advance to the Quarterfinals. Ivory Coast is eliminated.
