DR Congo beats Togo to reach AFCON quarterfinals
PORT-GENTIL, Jan. 24, 2017 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 : DR Congo defeated Togo by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a AFCON group stage game on Tuesday night at the Port-Gentil Stadium.
DR Congo dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Kabananga in the 29th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Congoleses further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Mubele '54 and M'Poku '80).
