AFCON 2017 Qualifiers : Ivory Coast held to a 1-1 draw by Sierra Leone but qualifies for 2017 AFCON
BOUAKé, Sep. 3, 2016 (AMP) — Gabon 2017 (Qualifiers) : Ivory Coast tied 1-1 with Sierra Leone (halftime: 1-0), in a AFCON qualifying game on Saturday night at the Stade Bouaké.
The Ivorians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Ivorian forward Jonathan Kodjia in the 35th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Sierra Leone with a saving goal from K. Kamara in the 67th minute.
Ivory Coast secured their ticket to the AFCON finals. Sierra Leone is eliminated.Fixtures and Results : Group I
