Championship (Week 6) : Newcastle beats Derby County 2-0
ENGLAND, Sep. 10, 2016 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 6: Four wins in a row for Newcastle. After their success against Reading, Bristol City and Brighton & Hove Albion, the Magpies continued their sensational form in the Championship with a 2-0 victory over Derby County this Saturday.
Newcastle dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by French forward Yoan Gouffran in the 20th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Magpies further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Yedlin in stoppage time.
Newcastle United climbed to second place with 12 points from 6 games, 4 points behind Huddersfield Town AFC.
