Championship (Week 19) : Forest beats Newcastle 2-1
ENGLAND, Dec. 2, 2016 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 19: The Magpies crashed to their 2nd consecutive defeat as they lost 2-1 against Nottingham Forest.
Newcastle had started off well by taking the lead in the 45th minute with a goal by midfielder Matt Ritchie. Trailing 1-0 at half time, the Reds nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring twice in the second period (Bendtner '52 and Lascelles '86 own).
Newcastle United remains in first place with 40 points from 19 games, a 2-point lead over runner-up Brighton and Hove Albion FC, which has a game in hand.
