Championship (Week 27) : Newcastle beats Rotherham 4-0

ENGLAND, Jan. 21, 2017 (AMP) — Championship / Match day 27: Two wins in a row for Newcastle. After their 1-2 win against Brentford on January 14, the Magpies continued their sensational form in the Championship with a 4-0 victory over Rotherham United this Saturday.

Matt Ritchie scored dual goals

Newcastle dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Irish forward Daryl Murphy in the 45th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Magpies further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Ritchie '49, '77 and Pérez '59).

Newcastle United remains in first place with 58 points from 27 games, one point ahead of runner-up Brighton and Hove Albion FC, which has a game in hand.
