MARRAKESH, Jan. 18, 2018 (AMP) — Kenya 2018 : Zambia defeated Ivory Coast by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a CHAN group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Marrakesh Stadium.
Mulenga scored dual goals
Zambia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Mulenga in the 8th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Zambians further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Mulenga in the 74th minute.
The result put the Zambians top of Group B with 6 points. Ivory Coast is bottom with no points. In their last game, Zambia will meet second-placed Namibia at the Marrakesh Stadium on January 22, while Ivory Coast will face Uganda.
