RIO DE JANEIRO, Jul. 14, 1989 (AMP) — Brazil 1989 : Uruguay defeated Argentina by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Copa América final round game (Second Round) on Friday.

The result put the Uruguayans top of the group with 6 points. Argentina is third with no points. In their last game, Uruguay will meet group leaders Brazil on July 16, while Argentina will face Paraguay.
