Copa América 2016 : Ecuador and Peru play out 2-2 draw
GLENDALE, Jun. 8, 2016 (AMP) — Centenario : Ecuador tied 2-2 with Peru (halftime: 1-2), in a Copa América group stage game on Wednesday night at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
The Peruvians started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Cueva ('5) and Flores ('13) while the Ecuadorians only scored once Valencia ('39). However, even though they were leading 2-1 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Ecuador with a saving goal from Bolaños in the 49th minute.
The result put the Peruvians second in Group B with 4 points. Ecuador is third with 2 points. In their last game, Peru will meet group leaders Brazil at the University of Phoenix Stadium on June 12, while Ecuador will face Haiti.
