DALLAS, Sep. 7, 2014 (AMP) — USA 2014 : El Salvador defeated Honduras by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Copa Centroamericana group stage game (Group A) on Sunday night at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
45 minutes of play and neither the Salvadorans nor the Hondurans have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Menjivar in the 67th minute.
The result put the Hondurans second in the group with 3 points. El Salvador is third with 3 points. In their last game, Honduras will meet group leaders Guatemala at the Cotton Bowl on September 10, while El Salvador will face Belize.
