East Asian Cup 2017 Qualifiers : Hong Kong beats Taiwan 4-2
KOWLOON, Nov. 9, 2016 (AMP) — Japan 2017 (Qualifiers) : Hong Kong defeated Taiwan by a score of 4-2 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2017 EAFF East Asian Cup (Second Round) on Wednesday night at the Mong Kok Stadium in Kowloon.
Alex served up another goal feast
Hong Kong dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Alex in the 21st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Hong Kong players further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Alex '48, '70, '71).
The result put Hong Kong second in the group with 6 points. Taiwan is bottom with no points. In their last game, Hong Kong will meet group leaders North Korea at the Mong Kok Stadium on November 12, while Taiwan will face Guam.
