MIAMI GARDENS, Jul. 12, 2013 (AMP) — USA 2013 : Haiti defeated Trinidad and Tobago by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a Gold Cup group stage game on Friday night at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens.
J. Maurice scored dual goals
Haiti dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by J. Maurice in the 16th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Haitians further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by J. Maurice in the 53rd minute.
The result put the Haitians second in Group B with 3 points. Trinidad and Tobago is bottom with one point. In their last game, Haiti will meet third-placed El Salvador at the Sun Life Stadium on July 15, while Trinidad and Tobago will face Honduras.
