PORTLAND, Jul. 9, 2013 (AMP) — USA 2013 : Costa Rica defeated Cuba by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a Gold Cup group stage game on Tuesday night at the Jeld-Wen Field in Portland.
Michael Barrantes scored dual goals
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Barrantes ('52, '77) and Arrieta ('71).
The result put the Costa Ricans top of Group C with 3 points. In their next game, Costa Rica will meet Belize at the Jeld-Wen Field on July 13, while Cuba will face the United States.
