La Liga (Week 26) : Espanyol defeats Gijon 4-2
SPAIN, Feb. 27, 2016 (AMP) — La Liga / Match day 26: Two wins in a row for Espanyol. After their 1-0 win against Deportivo La Coruna on February 20, Los Periquitos continued their sensational form in the La Liga with a 4-2 victory over Sporting Gijon this Saturday.
Gerard Moreno scored dual goals
Castro Carlos opened the score in the 20th minute, before seeing Espanyol catch up in the 42nd minute thanks to Burgui Jorge Fanco. 1-1 at half time. Los Periquitos eventually won the game in the second period with three more goals by Moreno ('48, '58) and Hernandez Luis ('80 own).
RCD Espanyol climbed to 13rd place with 28 points from 26 games, 3 points behind Malaga CF, which has a game in hand.
