League One (Week 13) : Wigan Athletic defeats Southend 3-0
ENGLAND, Oct. 14, 2017 (AMP) — League One / Match day 13: Four wins in a row for Wigan Athletic. After their success against Plymouth Argyle, Walsall and Scunthorpe United, the Latics continued their sensational form in the League One with a 3-0 victory over Southend United this Saturday.
Wigan Athletic dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Jacobs Michael in the 8th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Latics further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Powell Nick '84 and Toney Ivan '88).
Wigan Athletic FC climbed to first place with 31 points from 13 games, tie on points with runner-up Shrewsbury Town FC.
