ENGLAND, Mar. 25, 2017 (AMP) — League Two / Match day 39: After losing 3-0 to Stevenage on March 18, Pompey returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Newport County this Saturday.
Portsmouth dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Bennett Kyle in the 42nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Pompey further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Naismith Kal in the 59th minute.
Portsmouth FC remains in third place with 68 points from 39 games, 4 points behind Plymouth Argyle FC, which has a game in hand.
