MLS : Real Salt Lake defeats Portland 4-1
UNITED STATES, Jul. 19, 2017 (AMP) — MLS: Two wins in a row for Real Salt Lake. After their 2-6 win against LA Galaxy on July 4, the Royals continued their sensational form in the MLS with a 4-1 victory over Portland Timbers this Wednesday.
Plata Joao scored dual goals
Real Salt Lake dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Beckerman Kyle in the 10th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Royals further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Plata Joao '50/penalty, '80 and Rusnak Albert '68).
Portland Timbers are down in 11st place with 27 points from 21 games, one point behind Columbus Crew SC, which has a game in hand.
