OFC Nations Cup 2016 : New Zealand beats Fiji 3-1
PORT MORESBY, May. 28, 2016 (AMP) — Papua New Guinea 2016 : New Zealand defeated the Fiji by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a OFC Nations Cup group stage game on Saturday afternoon at the Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby.
New Zealand dominated the first half thanks to goals from Tzimopoulos ('16) and Fallon ('41). Leading 2-1 at the break, the New Zealanders further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Wood on penalty in the 61st minute.
The result put the New Zealander top of Group B with 3 points. In their next game, New Zealand will meet Vanuatu at the Sir John Guise Stadium on May 31, while the Fiji will face the Solomon Islands.
