Premier League (Week 17) : Southampton defeats Bournemouth 3-1
ENGLAND, Dec. 18, 2016 (AMP) — Premier League / Match day 17: After their 0-0 draw against Stoke City on December 14, the Saints returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth this Sunday.
Jay Rodriguez scored dual goals
Bournemouth defender Nathan Aké opened the score in the 6th minute, before seeing Southampton catch up in the 14th minute thanks to Ryan Bertrand. 1-1 at half time. The Saints eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Rodriguez ('48, '85).
Southampton climbed to 7th place with 24 points from 17 games, 6 points behind Manchester United FC.
