Primeira Liga (Week 9) : Moreirense beats Maritimo 2-1
PORTUGAL, Nov. 2, 2014 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 9: Two wins in a row for Moreirense. After their 2-0 win against Gil Vicente on October 25, the Verdes-e-Brancos continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 2-1 victory over Maritimo this Sunday.
Moreirense dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Pedro in the 17th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Verdes-e-Brancos further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Simões in the 57th minute.
Moreirense FC climbed to 9th place with 13 points from 9 games, only one point behind CF Os Belenenses, which has a game in hand.
