PORTUGAL, Nov. 1, 2014 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 9: Three wins in a row for Vitoria Guimaraes. After their success against Boavista and Vitoria Setubal, the Vimaranenses continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 3-0 victory over Sporting Lisbon this Saturday.
Vitoria Guimaraes dominated the first half thanks to goals from Saré ('15) and Afonso ('42). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Vimaranenses further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by André on penalty with just 9 minutes remaining in regulation time.
Vitoria SC climbed to second place with 20 points from 9 games, 2 points behind SL Benfica.
