Primeira Liga (Week 8) : Estoril and Rio Ave tied at 2-2
PORTUGAL, Oct. 24, 2015 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 8: Rio Ave was held to a 2-2 draw by Estoril on Saturday.
Rio Ave players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Dutch midfielder Marvin Zeegelaar in the 44th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, and despite Guedes Helder goal ('88) in the second period, they could not prevent a comeback by Estoril with goals by Carlos Diego ('57) and Afonso Taira ('90).
Rio Ave FC remains in third place with 15 points from 8 games, 2 points behind Sporting Clube de Portugal, which has a game in hand.
