Primeira Liga (Week 29) : Benfica beats Académica 2-1

PORTUGAL, Apr. 9, 2016 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 29: 7 wins in a row for Benfica. After their success against Paços de Ferreira, União da Madeira, Sporting Lisbon, Tondela, Boavista and Braga, the Eagles continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 2-1 victory over Académica Coimbra this Saturday.

Académica Coimbra forward Pedro Nuno opened the score in the 17th minute, before seeing Benfica catch up in the 39th minute thanks to Mitroglou Kostas. 1-1 at half time. The Eagles eventually won the game in the second period with with a goal by Jimenez Raul with just 5 minutes remaining in regulation time.

SL Benfica remains in first place with 73 points from 29 games, a 5-point lead over runner-up Sporting Clube de Portugal, which has a game in hand.
