Primeira Liga (Week 15) : Académica defeats União 3-1
PORTUGAL, Jan. 2, 2016 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 15: After losing 3-1 to Porto on December 20, Os Estudantes returned to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over União da Madeira this Saturday.
Académica Coimbra defender Ricardo Nascimento opened the score in the 7th minute, before seeing União da Madeira catch up in the 22nd minute thanks to Monteiro Paulo penalty kick. 1-1 at half time. Os Estudantes eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Alexandre Fernando ('67) and Joao Real ('84).
União da Madeira remains in 15th place with 14 points from 15 games, 2 points behind CF Os Belenenses, which has a game in hand.
