Primeira Liga (Week 5) : Rio Ave beats Sporting 3-1
PORTUGAL, Sep. 18, 2016 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 5: After four straigth victories against Maritimo, Paços de Ferreira, Porto and Moreirense, the Sportinguistas lost 3-1 against Rio Ave.
Rio Ave dominated the first half thanks to goals from Monteiro Tarantini ('29), Guedes Helder ('36) and Dias Gil ('43). Leading 3-0 at the break, Rio Grande further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
Sporting Clube de Portugal remains in first place with 12 points from 5 games, a 2-point lead over runner-up SG Braga, which has a game in hand.
