Primeira Liga (Week 9) : Benfica defeats Paços de Ferreira 3-0
PORTUGAL, Oct. 28, 2016 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 9: 7 wins in a row for Benfica. After their success against Nacional, Arouca, Braga, Chaves, Feirense and Belenenses, the Eagles continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 3-0 victory over Paços de Ferreira this Friday.
Benfica dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Gonçalo Guedes in the 26th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Eagles further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Salvio '64 and Fernandes Pizzi '87).
SL Benfica remains in first place with 25 points from 9 games, a 6-point lead over runner-up FC Porto, which has a game in hand.
