Primeira Liga (Week 8) : Benfica defeats Belenenses 2-0
PORTUGAL, Oct. 23, 2016 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 8: 6 wins in a row for Benfica. After their success against Nacional, Arouca, Braga, Chaves and Feirense, the Eagles continued their sensational form in the Primeira Liga with a 2-0 victory over Belenenses this Sunday.
Benfica dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Mitroglou Kostas in the 10th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Eagles further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Grimaldo Alejandro in the 65th minute.
SL Benfica remains in first place with 22 points from 8 games, a 3-point lead over runner-up FC Porto.
