Primeira Liga (Week 8) : Maritimo draw 1-1 with Benfica
PORTUGAL, Oct. 1, 2017 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 8: The match between Benfica and Maritimo ended in a frustrating 1-1 draw on Sunday.
Benfica players started off well by taking the lead thanks to Brazilian forward Jonas Oliveira in the 2nd minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Maritimo with a saving goal from Maritimo midfielder Valente Ricardo in the 66th minute.
SL Benfica remains in third place with 17 points from 8 games, 3 points behind Sporting Clube de Portugal.
