PORTUGAL, Oct. 22, 2017 (AMP) — Primeira Liga / Match day 9: After their 1-1 draw against Maritimo on October 1, the Eagles bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Aves this Sunday.
Jonas Oliveira scored dual goals
Benfica dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Brazilian forward Jonas Oliveira in the 29th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Eagles further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Seferovic '50 and Jonas Oliveira '79/penalty).
SL Benfica climbed to second place with 20 points from 9 games, 5 points behind FC Porto.
