Segunda division (Week 3) : Girona defeats Tenerife 2-0
SPAIN, Sep. 6, 2014 (AMP) — Segunda division / Match day 3: Three wins in a row for Girona. After their success against Racing Santander and Alcorcon, the Blanquivermells continued their sensational form in the Segunda division with a 2-0 victory over Tenerife this Saturday.
Girona dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Sandaza in the 27th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Blanquivermells further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Sanchon on penalty in the 66th minute.
Girona FC climbed to first place with 9 points from 3 games, a 2-point lead over runner-up Real Sporting de Gijon.
