Segunda division (Week 23) : Gijon beats Ponferradina 2-0
SPAIN, Jan. 31, 2015 (AMP) — Segunda division / Match day 23: Two wins in a row for Sporting Gijon. After their 3-0 win against Numancia on January 25, Los Rojiblancos continued their sensational form in the Segunda division with a 2-0 victory over Ponferradina this Saturday.
Sporting Gijon dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Cases in the 17th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, Los Rojiblancos further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Lopez in the 48th minute.
Real Sporting de Gijon climbed to second place with 44 points from 23 games, tie on points with UD Las Palmas, which has a game in hand.
