Segunda division (Week 19) : Alavés defeats Athletic B 3-0
SPAIN, Jan. 2, 2016 (AMP) — Segunda division / Match day 19: Two wins in a row for Alavés. After their 0-1 win against Ponferradina on December 19, Los Babazorros continued their sensational form in the Segunda division with a 3-0 victory over Bilbao Athletic this Saturday.
Alavés dominated the first half thanks to goals from Mora Sergio ('15) and Cerda Juli ('23). Leading 2-0 at the break, Los Babazorros further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Garcia Manu on penalty in the 72nd minute.
Deportivo Alavés remains in first place with 36 points from 19 games, a 3-point lead over runner-up Cordoba CF, which has a game in hand.
