ITALY, Sep. 7, 2014 (AMP) — Serie B / Match day 2: After a 2-1 victory over Spezia on August 30, the Leopardi lost 4-2 against Carpi.
Varese had started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Petkovic ('11) and Pereira ('41), while Carpi only scored once Mbakogu ('19 on penalty). Trailing 2-1 at half time, the Biancorossi nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Poli '56, Gagliolo '58 and Lollo '66).
Carpi FC 1909 climbed to first place with 4 points from 2 games, tie on points with runner-up AS Cittadella.
