SãO PAULO, Jul. 2, 1950 (AMP) — Brazil 50 : Italy defeated Paraguay by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday afternoon at the Pacaembu Stadium.
Italy dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Riccardo Carapellese in the 12th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Italians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Pandolfini in the 62nd minute.
