SANDVIKEN, Jun. 15, 1958 (AMP) — Sweden 58 : Hungary defeated Mexico by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Sunday night at Jernvallen in Sandviken.
Lajos Tichy scored dual goals
Hungary dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Lajos Tichy in the 19th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Hungarians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Tichy '46, Sándor '54 and Bencsics '69).
