LONDON, Jul. 15, 1966 (AMP) — England 66 : Uruguay defeated France by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday night at the White City Stadium in London.

All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Pedro Rocha ('26) and Julio César Cortés ('31).
