MEXICO CITY, Jun. 11, 1970 (AMP) — Mexico 70 : Mexico defeated Belgium by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Thursday afternoon at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

All the action happened in the first half, with Mexican defender Gustavo Peña goal on penalty in the 14th minute.

Mexico advance to the Quarterfinals. Belgium is eliminated.
