HANOVER, Jun. 26, 1974 (AMP) — Germany 74 : Brazil defeated East Germany by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a World Cup second round game on Wednesday night at the Niedersachsenstadion in Hanover.
East Germany made the Brazilians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Brazilian forward Rivelino in the 60th minute.
The result put the Brazilians second in Group A with 2 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet Argentina at the Niedersachsenstadion on June 30, while East Germany will face the Netherlands.
