45 minutes of play and neither the Germans nor the Australians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Curran ('58 own) and Streich ('72).
The result put the Germans top of Group A with 2 points. In their next game, East Germany will meet third-placed Chile at the Volksparkstadion on June 18, while Australia will face Germany.
