BERLIN, Jun. 14, 1974 (AMP) — Germany 74 : Germany defeated Chile by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a World Cup group stage game on Friday afternoon at the Berlin Olympic Stadium.

All the action happened in the first half, with German midfielder Paul Breitner goal in the 18th minute.

The result put the Germans top of Group A with 2 points. In their next game, Germany will meet Australia at the Berlin Olympic Stadium on June 18, while Chile will face East Germany.
